We have some potentially exciting news about Prime Video’s live-action “Tomb Raider” series. It seems that Sigourney Weaver (“Avatar: Fire and Ash”) is in talks to potentially join the show. Weaver would be starring opposite Sophie Turner (“Game of Thrones”), who will play Lara Croft.

Jonathan Van Tulleken (“Shōgun”) is set to direct this adaptation of the popular video game franchise, with Phoebe Waller-Bridge (“Killing Eve”) serving as creator and writer. Waller-Bridge and Tulleken will also executive produce and co-showrun with Chad Hodge.
It is unknown who Weaver would play if she does join the cast. Prime Video has not commented on her potential casting.
“Tomb Raider” is expected to start production on January 19th. This early into development, there is no set release window just yet. We may hear something about it during The Game Awards tomorrow.
