Have you ever thought to yourself gosh, “TV pitchmen seem well suited for politics?” Well, have we got some news for you. Offer Vince Shlomi, better known as the ShamWow guy, is running for congress in Texas.

Most probably recognize him from his infomercials for super absorbent towels that dominated the airwaves in the early 2000s.

When asked why the switch from brightly colored towels to politics he said he wanted to “destroy wokeism.” Telling Fox News Digital that this is a tribute to Charlie Kirk, or as Shlomi calls him the “woke buster.”

He added that the “political infighting in the country” also inspired him to run and wanting to “make America happy.” He also has done a fair share of proselytizing regarding Charlie Kirk.

Shlomi will be running as a republican against Congressman John Carter, who has held the seat for decades and plans to seek re-election. His petition to run was received on November 28th under the name Offer Vince “ShamWow” Shlomi. He is one of 5 people viying for Texas’ 31st Congressional District seat, which includes northern Austin suburbs, Temple, and Fort Hood.

Despite his fame 20 years ago, Shlomi stepped out of the spotlight a while back after allegations of harassment and physical altercations were levied against him. In 2009, he was arrested in Miami Beach, Florida after a violent altercation with a sex worker. However, no charges ended up ever being pressed.

We’ll keep you posted on updates about Offer Vince “ShamWow” Shlomi’s run for congress as the situation develops.
