The 3rd season of HBO’s “House Of The Dragon” won’t premiere until summer 2026. But the “Game of Thrones” prequel has already been greenlit for season 4, which is set to debut in 2028. Given past comments made by the series’s showrunner Ryan Condal, some fans are asking if this will be the last season.

Condal has previously said the series will end after 4 seasons. However, at no point has HBO referred to the newly announced season as the last one. Condal is reportedly still in the process of writing the freshly renewed season. It’s believed the final decision on whether the show’s ending will come once it’s fully written.
Like its predecessor, “House Of The Dragon” is based the work of George R.R. Martin. Set 200 years before the events depicted in “Game of Thrones,” “Fire & Blood” it dives into the backstory of House Targaryen.
Season 3 stars Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, and Harry Collett. Alongside Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, Matthew Needham, James Norton, Tom Bennett, Kieran Bew, Kurt Egyiawan, Freddie Fox, Clinton Liberty, Gayle Rankin, and Abubakar Salim.
We’ll keep you posted on updates about seasons 3 and 4 of “House Of The Dragon” as they develop.
