There have been rumblings for months that season 4 of HBO’s “The White Lotus” will be set in France. Earlier today, Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO of HBO and HBO Max, confirmed this during an HBO Max programming presentation in New York.

“It’s going to be in France,” Bloys said about “The White Lotus” season 4. “Mike [White] is writing and just starting.” He also added that the project is still “very, very early” in the casting process.
“The White Lotus” has already had seasons set in Hawaii, Italy, and Thailand. So France is certainly a change of pace. Series creator, Mike White, told the White Lotus podcast that he’d “want to get a little bit out of the crashing waves of rocks vernacular,” after season 3.
Where in France this season will be set isn’t totally clear yet. White has previously said he’d avoid the Paris capital, because it would feel “like a cop-out.”
“I think it’s going to speak to culture in a way that […] is going to be relevant,” David Bernad, a producer for “The White Lotus,” said. “I don’t want to say too much [other than] I know what it is and where it’s going, and it’s really exciting and I think people will be happy about the direction of season four.”
We’ll keep you posted on updates about the 4th season of “The White Lotus” as it develops.
