Remembering some truly annoying enemies in video games

Even though gaming is there to provide pleasure and entertainment, it can be incredibly infuriating at times. Some titles are too tough to tackle, resulting in gamers opting to watch a movie instead. Likewise, sometimes a particular level is hard to navigate. However, annoying enemies are arguably the most testing of the lot, with some well-liked releases containing a plethora of painful adversaries over the years.

Of course, not every gaming release available to session today serves up an irritating cast of characters. For example, gamers around the world are currently favoring live casino games like Auto American Live Roulette that serve up plenty of fun, while charming 19th-century-themed puzzle games like Return of the Obra Dinn are also enticing. While both products contain various obstacles to overcome, they’re nowhere near as tiresome as some iconic enemies from some familiar games.

So, with a huge selection of enemies getting on gamers’ nerves in recent times, below we remember some truly annoying opponents you might’ve struggled with yourself.

The Weepers in Dishonored are hated

Dishonored has a loyal community of gamers behind it, but even the staunchest supporter of the game will tell you how much of an annoyance the Weepers are. These spooky enemies don’t just look horrible, but they also have a tendency to lead players right towards danger. For many players, ignoring them altogether is paramount.

The man-eating insects in Resident Evil 7

Resident Evil 7 is a great game, but the man-eating insects that are on show throughout it are a massive pain in the backside. Not only will you waste your valuable ammo trying to take them out, but a wave of them at once is incredibly tricky to see off. Overall, no Resident Evil players relish taking on a swarm of these annoying miniature man-eaters.

Creepers in Minecraft are a pain

Minecraft is an iconic release that has occupied the minds of gamers all over the world. However, while the endless possibilities in Minecraft make it such an enjoyable product to immerse yourself in, it does also come with some evident downsides. Step forward, creepers. These self-exploding enemies are hugely detrimental at times, especially after a player has finished a large build. In a few minutes, hours-worth of grueling work can be ruined due to these awkward miniature creatures.

Poison Headcrabs are horrible little creatures

The type of miniature enemy that sends shivers down the spines of gamers, the poison headcrabs in Half-Life 2 are heavily featured throughout. Not only can there be large populations of them, but they have a tendency to latch onto players as they aim to end their progress in the game by killing them off. However, despite their quick movements and the weird positions they take up, it can be highly satisfying killing them off in the end despite the initial frustration that comes with them.

    Pokémon players despise Zubat

Whether you’re attempting to catch one to fill up your Pokédex or you’re exploring a cave in a specific Pokémon product, Zubat is a Pokémon creature you probably don’t want to come across. Despite being everywhere, they’re hard to catch, and they really test your patience.

Ghost Fish are everywhere in Ninja Gaiden

While there are far tougher enemies to clash with in other games, Ghost Fish are still really annoying to come up against in Ninja Gaiden. Sure, they die with one hit, but a swarm of them coming at you out of nowhere can feel like you’ve wasted important amounts of time for no real reason, especially as they constantly respawn and test your patience in the process.
