We’ve got some great news for all you “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” fans out there. Kate McKinnon (“In the Blink of an Eye”) has joined the cast for season 3! She will be playing Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and beauty.

Aphrodite “can alter her appearance depending on the beholder” and “must be sure that Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell) respects the power and importance of love before she agrees to offer aid on his quest,” the official character description reads.
“Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is based on the popular young adult novels by Rick Riordan. The 3rd novel, “The Titan’s Curse,” will inspire season 3 of the TV series.
The cast for the show includes Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth, Aryan Simhadri as Grover, Megan Mullally as Mrs. Dodds, Virginia Kull as Sally Jackson (Percy’s mom), Timm Sharp as Gabe Ugliano (Percy’s stepfather), Jason Mantzoukas as Dionysius, Glynn Turman as Mr. Brunner, Adam Copeland as Ares, Suzanne Cryer as Echidna, Jessica Parker Kennedy as Medusa, Lin-Manuel Miranda as Hermes, and Toby Stephens as Poseidon. Courtney B. Vance will be taking over the role of Zeus, originally played by the late Lance Reddick.
Season 2 of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” premieres on December 10th. Season 3 is currently in production in Vancouver with no set release window.
