Are you in desperate need of some turtle power? Well, look no further! The animated short, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Chrome Alone 2 — Lost in New Jersey,” is here to fill the void.
Directed by Kent Seki from a script by Andrew Joustra, this tale has the turtles being exploited by a mysterious toy company. Our heroes must leave their comfort zone of New York to find answers in New Jersey.

“We wanted to honor the Ninja Turtles’ history while asking what would happen if we put them somewhere completely unfamiliar,” Seki said. “New Jersey became the perfect backdrop because it’s so close to New York, yet has its own energy and quirks that challenge the turtles in new ways.”
For four turtles who have never left New York, Jersey probably feels like it’s halfway around the globe.
“Chrome Alone 2” keeps the characters’ sense of humor balanced with their kick ass martial art skills. Seki looked to the 1990s live-action films for the film’s tone.
“I grew up loving both ‘Home Alone’ and the Ninja Turtles, and this project became a way to smash those influences together. The turtles are constantly in survival mode — but here, survival means figuring out the Jersey Turnpike,” he explains.
“Chrome Alone 2” will feature a unique animation that blends stylized character design with photorealistic backgrounds, grounding the characters’ zany antics in some form of reality. “It was about making the turtles pop against an environment that feels almost too real, so every pizza slice and sewer lid becomes a character in its own right,” says the director.
There may also be more to come from Seki in this universe. “I think audiences are hungry for new ways to experience these characters,” he teased. “We’ll always love seeing them in New York, but throwing them somewhere unexpected opens the door to new humor, new stakes and new visual possibilities. If people connect with this one, I’d love to keep exploring that.”
“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Chrome Alone 2 — Lost in New Jersey” will hit theaters before showings of “The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants,” on December 19th, 2025.
