I didn’t expect a plushie line to become part of my emotional toolkit, but Plushie Dreadfuls’ Halloween collection is making that happen. These cuddly, spooky hybrids are “scary cute,” and feel like they were built for late nights, low moods, and the need for something both whimsical and grounding. And they’ve become a great cuddle buddy for late night horror films. You know, when you need the extra support during those extra scary parts.

Tricksee Belle (a pumpkin-headed bunny you can remove the pumpkin from) is especially adorable. My oldest chose her as her special support bunny. She liked that you can remove the pumpkin head to reveal a sweet bunny underneath. What’s funny is that my youngest chose the same concept bunny, only hers revealed only fire underneath and no head. She’s almost five and thought that was the most hilarious thing and chased me around saying, “do you think he has a head?” and then would yank off the pumpkin laughing hysterically. This particular rabbit is called the Headless Bunsman. What’s more is that my littlest is picky about toys, and she glommed on to this one immediately.

The ones I’ve been gushing over are the Werebun and Bunny Lugosi who are both very soft and pretty. The definition of “spooky cute” in my book. The werebun had become my emotional support bunny which has relieved my old 40-year-old bunny who’s in tatters but I still sleep with him every night.

These plushies are the perfect size if you want to cuddle them on their own or include them in your current emotional support cuddle puddle. I like to feel like I’m anchoring to something. These are the perfect firmness and softness to keep with you 24/7 if you wanted.
What strikes me most is how these plushies manage to balance the eerie with the tender. Their colors beautifully compliment each one. And the fact that each one is hand-sewn adds to the doll, making each one different and truly yours. With slight variations you get the sense that the doll was made for you. And if you’re ordering from Plushiedreadfuls.com, they truly are.
For someone who lives with bipolar, BPD, CPTSD and autism, comfort comes in things I do everyday, a routine. A friend that I can hold when I’m feeling down or overwhelmed has quickly become my new way of dealing with hard times. And I have a fear of driving which I have to do. I’ve been buckling in Werebun and Bunny Lugosi in the passenger seat and they’ve been helping actually. Holding them during quiet hours is surprisingly soothing.

I like that Plushie Dreadfuls speaks openly about emotional well-being, empathy, and acceptance in their mission. They’re also a company that donates to charitable causes every month. Each of these plushies mentioned also come with their own tote bag so you can use them for groceries, Trick-or-treating and anything else you might need a bag for.
So, long story short – If you like plushies with personality, charm, and emotional comfort these are definitely worth checking out. And the fact that these are created by none other than American McGee, who I’ve been obsessed with since the first ALICE game was promoted, is a big plus for me. I mean hello?! Goth Alice? I was/am totally for it.
