We have a new entry in the category of things that shouldn’t exist but do. Have you ever looked at sunscreen and thought, “Wow, I’ll bet that tastes awesome!” If so, stop, get some help. Or you can indulge in this affront to god courtesy of Carnival Cruise Line and Van Leeuwen ice cream company.

Last week, Carnival Cruises posted a threat video of people playing in the sand around a tub of Van Leeuwen’s limited edition sunscreen ice cream. The company is clear that this product doesn’t exist….yet.
Why are they threatening to make an ice cream that literally no one asked for? Well, in “protest of summer ending, we’ve decided to eat our sunscreen!” A rational and logical choice for any person/company to make.
So, Carnival and Van Leeuwen are teasing the product to gauge fan reaction before possibly creating it for a wider release. (Which actually is a logical thing for companies to do.)
The ingredients list for the proposed ice cream also sounds surprisingly edible. Clearly, sunscreen has been omitted due to being inedible, but ingredients include cream, coconut cream, milk, cane sugar, egg yolks, cocoa butter, natural flavors, vanilla extract, and sea salt.
We’re not sure how or why you’d want to make it taste like sunscreen, but okay.
