After what feels like forever, we’re FINALLY getting the story of how a young scrappy Sylvester Stallone made “Rocky” happen. It’s a legendary tale, and one worthy of a film or mini series. Something akin to “The Offer,” which was a dramatized version of the making of “The Godfather.” (If you haven’t seen it, I cannot recommend it enough!) Which is what brings us to “I Play Rocky.”
It’ll be a project for Amazon MGM, and the lead has just been cast. Oddly enough, there’s even a “The Offer” tie in. Anthony Ippolito, who played young Al Pacino in “The Offer,” will take on the role of Stallone. And we have to say, how perfect!

I mean just LOOK at that chin!
Oscar winning director Peter Farrelly (“The Green Book“) will direct from a script by Peter Gamble. Former WB chairman Toby Emmerich will produce along with Christian Baha.
We’ll let you know what else we hear about this and other news.
