Wise Business Plans on the Future of Business Planning in an AI-Driven Market

Director Joseph Ferriolo Discusses the Company’s Approach, Niche Expertise, and Why Human Insight Still Matters.

In an era where artificial intelligence is increasingly being used to produce business plans, Wise Business Plans is taking a different approach—one that pairs data-driven tools with human expertise. Founded in 2010, the Las Vegas–based consulting firm has developed more than 15,000 custom business plans, helping clients secure over $2 billion in funding.

Time Business News sat down with Joseph Ferriolo, Director of Wise Business Plans, to discuss how the company differentiates itself, the evolving needs of entrepreneurs, and the importance of precision in funding documents.

Q: For readers who may be unfamiliar, what is Wise Business Plans’ core mission?
Ferriolo: Our mission is to help entrepreneurs and small business owners present themselves in the best possible light to lenders, investors, and immigration officials. That means crafting plans that are clear, credible, and backed by solid market research.

Q: Why not just use an AI-powered template or software?
Ferriolo: AI is a useful tool, but it has limitations—especially when it comes to compliance-heavy documents like SBA loan applications or E-2 and EB-5 visa petitions. We see a growing number of rejections where the plan looks “machine-written” and lacks detailed market validation. Our plans are built by MBA-level writers and analysts who ensure every number and projection makes sense in a real-world context.

Q: Wise Business Plans is often mentioned in relation to SBA and visa business planning. Why focus on those niches?
Ferriolo: Because they have the highest stakes and the most stringent requirements. An SBA lender or USCIS officer won’t approve based on a generic plan—they want specifics that match their criteria. Over the years, we’ve built a process that aligns directly with those expectations.

Q: How do you see the future of business planning changing in the next five years?
Ferriolo: I think we’ll see more hybrid approaches—AI for efficiency, human insight for credibility. The best plans will combine the speed of automation with the judgment and strategic thinking only an experienced business planner can provide.

Q: Beyond writing business plans, what other services do you offer?
Ferriolo: We’ve expanded into investor pitch decks, feasibility studies, market analysis, LLC formation, branding, and even vendor credit account setup. The idea is to support a client not just at the planning stage but all the way to operational launch.

Q: What do you see as the key measure of success for Wise Business Plans?
Ferriolo: Client outcomes. If a client secures funding, gets a visa approved, or successfully launches their franchise, that’s a win for us.
