Woman Claims to be Freddie Mercury’s Secret Daughter

Remember the days of sensationalist headlines emblazoned upon the front of tabloid newspapers? Claims of affairs, medical conditions, and secret children galore. Most of them had to be taken with a grain of salt. Some had a grain of truth to them. Imagine one claiming Freddie Mercury had a secret love child. It’s not as outlandish as it sounds, as the woman claiming to be the late, great Queen frontman’s child is the subject of an upcoming biography.

The book, “Love, Freddie: Freddie Mercury’s Secret Life and Love” by British author and journalist Leslie-Ann Jones details the life of someone known only by the pseudonym, “B.” For the sake of her privacy, most of what we know about B is that she’s currently 48 years old, and is a medical professional in Europe. The details of her being the secret child of Mercury comes from a series of journals Mercury allegedly wrote to this daughter once he discovered she was born.

While the story hasn’t been confirmed, Jones believes B is being truthful, and has worked with them for over three years to bring this story to life. “B” was supposedly the result of an affair Mercury had with the wife of a friend, but for whatever reason, did not bring the existence of the affair or the resultant child to the public eye. Mercury died in 1991, but reportedly gave his diaries to B before he passed away.

Queen’s enduring popularity makes B’s story relevant to the pop culture zeitgeist, especially given the reverence so many have for Mercury. The man was and is still regarded as perhaps the greatest vocalist in rock and roll, as well as an LGBTQ icon. If B’s story is sincere, then the diaries she was entrusted with would be a massive insight into Mercury’s life.

“Love, Freddie: Freddie Mercury’s Secret Life and Love” will be hitting store shelves on September 5th.
