We finally know why Neve Campbell (“Scream”) was rumored to be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It had been widely believed she had been cast in the upcoming star-studded “Avengers: Doomsday.”
But now, “X-Men ’97” creator and executive producer Beau DeMayo confirmed she will actually be voicing Polaris / Lorna Dane on the show. Polaris is one of the children of Magneto, and it’ll be interesting to see where they take the character.

DeMayo announced the casting by correcting one of the many false reports that she would be in “Doomsday.” He praised her performance and said, “She does amazing work bringing something new.”
The 10-episode first season of “X-Men ’97” hit Disney+ last year and became a hit with fans and critics. Campbell will star alongside several fan-favorite mutants like Logan/Wolverine (Cal Dodd), Jean Grey (Jennifer Hale), and Scott Summers/Cyclops (Ray Chase).
Season 2 of “X-Men ’97” is currently slated for a 2026 release. You can watch the original “X-Men: The Animated Series” as well as the followup on Disney+ now.
We’ll keep you posted on updates as the project develops.
