Are you ready for one last game? Netflix has just released the first trailer for the third and final season of “Squid Game.” The upcoming season was filmed back-to-back with the recently wrapped second season, originally written as one long story arc.

Season two ends on a huge cliffhanger with Seong Gi-hun/Player 456 (Lee Jung-jae) realizing his rebellion has failed. Losing his best friend and ally, Jung-bae (Lee Seo-hwan), in the process. Despite the hiccup, the violent children’s games will continue to wreak havoc on the players.
Yim Si-wan, Park Sung-hoon, Jo Yu-ri, Park Gyu-young, and Wi Ha-joon will also be reprising their respective roles.
Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk is already teasing viewers that they will “meet our character Gi-hun at a very critical crossroads as we begin the third season. Gi-hun will not be the man he was in Season 2.”
“What state is Gi-hun going to be in? And what will he choose to do? Will he continue on with the mission? Is he going to give up or persist,” he cryptically asks Variety.
The Korean drama has been a runaway hit for Netflix, smashing all kinds of records for the streamer. When season two launched in December, within the first week, it was Netflix’s most-viewed series. Currently, it is the streamer’s third most-watched series, behind “Squid Game” season one and “Wednesday.”
“Squid Game” season three will hit Netflix on June 27th. You can check out the first trailer below:
