The World’s Largest Casinos: A Glimpse into Luxury and Grandeur

Casinos have a reputation of exuding an atmosphere of glamour, high-stakes, and luxury. Travel to places like Las Vegas or Monte Carlo among other places and you’ll see what we mean. Even places like Macau have already established themselves as one of the most popular destinations for gambling tourists. There are other places around the world where the potential is quite high for booming growth (we’ll reveal one place where it’s more than possible).

We will go over a list of some of the iconic casinos that are among the world’s largest. Are you ready for an exciting world tour of these glamorous places? Let’s get started.

The United Arab Emirate: Can A Casino Thrive Here?

Before we take a look at places around the world and the casinos that exist, let’s discuss a place where a casino will more than likely succeed (albeit in the first year of its opening). The United Arab Emirate may seem like the last place on earth to open up a casino. One major reason is that Islamic law forbids gambling.

In recent years, the Emirati nation decided to change its trajectory. Rather than stifle growth and keep laws forbidding gambling in the books, the government paved the way to create laws that might relax restrictions and prior laws. A UAE casino resort could be in the works and be slated to open within the next few years. When it does, you can expect it to experience an explosion of revenue within its first year of opening.

Think about it: UAE is home to places like Dubai and Abu Dhabi – both are popular destinations for luxury travelers. Many of those who live the high-end life like to enjoy some high-rolling gambling. There may be numerous travelers from all corners of the globe that are looking to flock to a hot new place for gambling and entertainment. Already, Dubai and Abu Dhabi have the ability to draw in high-earning travelers and providing an additional option could almost guarantee that financial success will be assured.

Iconic Casinos of Las Vegas: Venetian and Bellagio

Two of the world’s largest casinos are found in none other than Las Vegas. The Venetian Resort boasts 120 000 square feet of space for gaming and entertainment. Best of all, it’s an architectural wonder that makes it one of the most popular places to visit. It’s as close to the experience of Venice, Italy without having to go to the city itself.

Another iconic casino that is one of the world’s largest is The Bellagio. Its fountain shows are second to none. Yet, inside of the confines are plenty of high-stakes gambling opportunities including poker. You might also catch a show while you’re there. Las Vegas isn’t called the “Entertainment Capital of the World” for nothing.

    Macau: Asia’s ‘Monte Carlo’

We talk about Las Vegas and Monte Carlo as two of the most recognizable gambling hotbeds in the world. However, Macau may rival both of those destinations. The Venetian brand has also established itself here with its 546 000 square foot casino known as The Venetian Macao – more than double the size of the Vegas location. The gaming floors are massive, plenty of high-end shopping, and spacious suites for luxury travelers that want privacy and the best in comfort.

The City of Dreams is also a casino that will certainly draw in many travelers from around the world. Aside from gambling, it offers plenty of dining options as well. It has a futuristic design to it and features a show that rivals the Bellagio water fountain. Oddly enough, the show is located in an attraction known as “The House of Dancing Water”.

Monte Carlo: The Crown Jewel of The French Riviera

Finally, we take a look at Monte Carlo in the principality of Monaco. The French Riviera is another luxury travel hot spot and many travel from places like Nice for plenty of gambling opportunities. Of course, we would be remiss if we didn’t mention the iconic Casino de Monte-Carlo – which is well over 160 years old making it one of the world’s oldest casinos.

The casino features over 102 000 square feet of space where you can play slots, table games, poker, and more. It’s also a place where plenty of visitors the world over come to visit. It’s also a hopping place during peak times of the year like the venerable Monaco Grand Prix.

    Final Thoughts

Casinos in Las Vegas, Macau, and Monte Carlo boast plenty of space and numerous gaming opportunities. Yet, a casino in the United Arab Emirates could rival them in the future. Especially with the efforts to relax the prohibition and restriction of gambling in the Middle Eastern country continue onward. In a place where luxury travel is already the norm, it should come as no surprise that an Emirate-based casino will have a flock of people from around the world visiting the moment the doors open.
