Robert Eggers’ “Nosferatu” Joins Popcorn Bucket Wars

It’s been about a month since we’ve brought you any news on the popcorn bucket wars. Regal Cinemas announced that Robert Eggers‘ “Nosferatu” is throwing its undead hat into the ring!

The popcorn buckets are, fittingly, shaped like a sarcophagus with ornate designs printed on the sides. The blueish-grey color gives it your standard musky tomb aesthetic. It also seems perfectly designed to hold other things after it’s done housing the undead your popcorn. Unlike some of its more seductive competitors (we’re looking at you, “Dune Part Two“).

“Treat yourself to a mix of sweet and savory delights—from popcorn to Funnel Fangs, Cold Blooded Cherry Icee, cocktails, and wine—there’s something for every craving,” Regal says.”

The upcoming film will be Eggers’ take on F. W. Murnau’s 1922 horror classic of the same name. The movie has been remade once before by Werner Herzog in 1979 as “Nosferatu the Vampyre.”

Each version centers around a young woman who becomes the object of desire for the terrifying vampire Count Orlok.

This version of “Nosferatu” stars Bill Skarsgård as Count Orlok, a role previously performed by Max Schreck and Klaus Kinski. He stars alongside Nicholas Hoult as Thomas Hutter, Lily-Rose Depp as his wife Ellen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Friedrich Harding, Emma Corrin as Ann Harding, Willem Dafoe as Professor Albin Eberhart Von Franz, Simon McBurney as Herr Knock, and Ralph Ineson as Dr. Wilhelm Sievers.

“Nosferatu” hits theaters on December 25th. These collectible popcorn buckets are only available at select Regal locations and potentially online once the film is released. You can check out the preview video below:
