More about “Star Trek: Lower Decks”

Follow the support crew on one of Starfleet’s least important ships, the U.S.S. Cerritos, in 2380. Ensigns Mariner, Boimler, Rutherford, and Tendi have to keep up with their duties and their social lives, often while the ship is being rocked by a multitude of sci-fi anomalies.

In season five of “Star Trek: Lower Decks,” the crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos is tasked with closing “space potholes” — subspace rifts that are causing chaos in the Alpha Quadrant. Pothole duty would be easy for Junior Officers Mariner, Boimler, Tendi, and Rutherford… if they didn’t also have to deal with an Orion war, furious Klingons, diplomatic catastrophes, murder mysteries, and scariest of all — their own career aspirations.

“Star Trek: Lower Decks” stars Jack Quaid, Tawny Newsome, Noël Wells, Ariel Winter, Gabrielle Ruiz, Eugene Cordero, Dawnn Lewis, Paul Scheer, and Jerry O’Connell.

    More about Mike McMahan:

Mike McMahan is the co-creator, co-showrunner, and executive producer of Hulu’s hit animated comedy series Solar Opposites, which was renewed for a third season after the show’s debut was the streamer’s most-watched original comedy premiere to date. Additionally, McMahan is creator and executive producer of Star Trek: Lower Decks.

Previously, McMahan was executive producer on Adult Swim’s hit animated series Rick and Morty, sharing the show’s Animated Program Emmy win in 2018 and again in 2020.
