Stan Lee’s Los Angeles Home up For Sale, Comes with Spider-Men

Have you ever wanted to own a part of comic book history? Well, here is your chance! The home of the late great Marvel Comics icon Stan Lee is up for sale. The Los Angeles dwelling can also be purchased with three life-sized Spider-Man action figures, all signed by Lee.

The three-bedroom, seven-bathroom home just hit the market for $8.8 million. However, if home ownership isn’t in the cards, it can be rented for $55,000 a month.

Lee and his wife originally purchased it for $4.4 million as a gift for their daughter J.C. Lee. When the family first saw the property, “they really envisioned that whole, you know, kind of indoor, outdoor California lifestyle,” said listing agent Naomi Selick of Douglas Elliman. Adding; “the house has a lot of memories of spending time as a family together there, and they had a lot of big parties.” The listing even describes it as;  “a real entertainer’s home.”

    A Hot Property

While Lee’s ownership of it is clearly a huge selling point, this home is a hot commodity regardless. The house is 5,000 square feet in size but only has one story, which is a huge selling point for those who know stairs are a young man’s game.

It sits on half an acre, which is considered “a very large lot” given its Hollywood Hills West location. Along with being located on The Bird Streets, a set of roads named after birds, that’s “one of the most desirable neighborhoods in the world,” Selick explains. Part of the draw could be its proximity to the Sunset Strip and Sunset Plaza shopping mall. While remaining semi-secluded from the hustle and bustle of these attractions.

“You’re far enough away from the stores and the restaurants to feel a sense of privacy, but close enough that it’s a minute or two down the hill,” says Selick. “It’s really such a desirable area that you know that’s attracting just anyone who wants to live in that area.”

In addition to the location and Lee’s ownership, the house is chalked full of amenities too. Including a paved deck (previously used as a stage by Lee), movie theater, pool, spa, and cabana. Along with the signed Spiderman statues that can be included with the sale for a negotiable price.
