With Earth Day just around the corner(April 22nd) many companies are pivoting their marketing to more sustainable products. This isn’t limited to recyclable material only but also extends to the world of toys. PLAYMOBIL has announced a few awesome sets for kids that are not only about Earth Day and connecting with the planet but are also made from recycled plastics. With 80% of the plastic in the toys coming from recycled materials.
The Toy Association mentioned “Eco-lasting Play”, as a trend in their 2024 press conference. With nearly 50% of parents under 40 considering a toy’s environmental impact when making decisions about buying a toy it makes sense to see toy companies going for a lighter carbon footprint. You can read the full press release here from The Toy Association.
The playsets from PLAYMOBIL I’d like to highlight today are the Wiltopia set which features the Amazon Rainforest, the Horses and Waterfall themed set and the soon to be released Tiny House themed set which includes a home with solar heating(not really it does not get hot) and a hydroponic garden.
Wiltopia
Know it, love it, protect it! Discover WILTOPIA, PLAYMOBIL’s first eco-friendly product line made from an average of over 80% sustainable materials. The latest adventure takes explorer family Palmer to the African Serengeti. There they study the animal and plant world and learn many new things about our fascinating planet. At the waterhole in the savannah, the large, newly designed African elephant quenches his thirst alongside the warthog and the gazelle. With his trunk, he can take in water and also splash it out again. With the enclosed “test strips”, children can do their own research and “test” the water quality.
Horses and Waterfall
Welcome to the picturesque Waterfall Ranch. Here the five best friends Amelia, Isabella, Zoe, Ellie and Ben spend every free minute together with their horses. Between riding training and horse care, there’s much more to discover at the ranch. In the riding therapy & veterinary practice, veterinarian and equine therapist Phil treats patients. Thanks to aqua trainers with treadmills, injured horses are quickly made fit again. In addition, equine therapy and therapeutic riding are offered to people of all different abilities. A great gift or souvenir for horse fans aged 4 years and up.
Tiny House
Small house, big family fun! Move into your own little family haven with the sustainable Tiny House play world from PLAYMOBIL. The Tiny House offers everything your heart desires: Downstairs, there’s the dining and kitchen area with a stove, sink, and refrigerator, as well as a folding table, and the bathroom with a shower and toilet. The foldable ladder leads up to the attic. Here, a children’s room and two sleeping spaces for adults are located. Outside, a vertical garden and flower box allow for growing fruits and vegetables for personal use, and solar panels on the roof support the power supply. This little house leaves no living desires unfulfilled!
