The animated show “Bluey” has certainly taken the world by storm, each week countless kids and their parents tune in to see what zany situation the Blue Healer puppy has gotten into. Given the show’s wild popularity, the BBC has just announced a spin-off series, “Bluey Book Reads.”
The new show will have various celebrities reading book versions of “Bluey” episodes. Each month, BBC Studios will release two episodes on the show’s official YouTube channel and on the website.
“Bluey Book Reads,” kicked off Monday with the sibling Australian pop duo Kylie and Dannii Minogue reading “Mini Bluey.” It is a story about discovery and sisterly love between Bluey and their sister Bingo. Where the pair set out to prove to their dad, Bandit, how alike they are after he claims they are too different.
“Bluey is an Aussie icon so when I was asked if I’d like to read Mini Bluey with my sister, it was an easy YES!” Kylie said in a statement. “This episode, ‘Mini Bluey,’ was perfect for us for obvious reasons: big sister and little sister! It reminded me so much of being kids growing up in Australia.”
The stories “jump from the page and tickle me in the belly,” adds Dannii, “There is life before Bluey, and life after! Once you know Bluey … you are hooked! It’s laugh-out-loud. It is fun for so many ages, as we can all relate to different members of Bluey’s family.”
