Actor/singer Donald Glover is spilling the tea on the long-awaited “Community” movie. Last week, the “This is America” singer revealed the script was done, confirmed his return as Troy Barnes. So of course his next reveal would be something about the plot!

While promoting Prime Video series “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” Glover explained the film will revolve around a college reunion. Abed (Danny Pudi) is now a famous director like he dreamed of, and he wants the reunion to serve as his “magnum opus.”
“Yeah, [Dan Harmon] told me what he wanted, and I was like, ‘This sounds great,’” Glover said. “It’s a college reunion, but Abed is like this big director now, and basically this is his magnum opus. I’m like, ‘This sounds f—ing tight.’”
And that does sound really freaking tight.
More About “Community”
Production was delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes. Fellow series star Joel McHale confirmed production would resume sometime this summer. So far, the returning cast includes Glover, Pudi, McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Alison Brie, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jim Rash, and Ken Jeong. Basically everyone except for Chevy Chase and Keith David. Some fans are still hoping Jonathan Banks will also return, but there is no confirmation on that yet.

“Community” was created by Harmon and ran for six seasons, from 2009 to 2015. During its time on the air, it created an incredibly loyal fanbase that started the joking battlecry; “Six seasons and a movie.” This film will be the long-discussed punchline to that chant.
We will keep you posted on updates about the “Community” movie as they become available. In the meantime, all six seasons are currently streaming on Netflix.
