John Waters to Play Good Guys Doll Creator in “Chucky” S3

The Pope of Trash himself, legendary filmmaker, writer, and actor John Waters is joining the cast of “Chucky.” This is not the first time Waters has had a role in the franchise. He previously played a sleazy paparazzi in “Seed of Chucky” and met a grizzly end. Waters claims that he was once recognized on the subway due to his role in the film.

The longtime “Child’s Play” fan will be playing the reclusive creator of the Good Guys doll.

We have to say, having Waters play the person who created the dolls feels like a stroke of genius. Waters has the look and feel to be a reclusive toymaker. Hopefully his character sees a better end compared to his paparazzi character. You never know how getting mixed up with the killer doll will really end, until he kills you that is. Let’s just hope Waters doesn’t have an unfortunate meeting with sulfuric acid again.

This won’t be the first time an actor played another role in the franchise, just ask series regular Devon Sawa. Sawa has played multiple roles over the course of the three seasons.

“Chucky” Season 3 chose to break into two parts due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes earlier this year. The fist part of the season ended back in October, just before Halloween. Part 2 of the third season will be returning to USA and SYFY in 2024. You can catch up on the first part of season 3 and the first two seasons on Peacock. We can’t wait to see how the season will end.
