After what feels like forever, another notable comedy series is coming to an end. HBO series “Curb Your Enthusiasm” has announced that it will officially end after season 12. Creator and star Larry David himself confirmed the news.
“As ‘Curb‘ comes to an end, I will now have the opportunity to finally shed this ‘Larry David’ persona and become the person God intended me to be – the thoughtful, kind, caring, considerate human being I was until I got derailed by portraying this malignant character,” David said in a statement. “And so ‘Larry David,’ I bid you farewell. Your misanthropy will not be missed. And for those of you who would like to get in touch with me, you can reach me at Doctors Without Borders.”
“Curb Your Enthusiasm” has periodically aired on HBO every-other-year since the late 2000. It’s longest break from airways was from 2011 to 2017. The series will have run for 24 years with 12 seasons. David and HBO had a greenlight agreement to do a new season when David was ready. Series executive producer Jeff Schaffer confirmed that every season had the potential to be the “final season.” “When the last episode occurs there will never be another episode of ‘Curb.’ It just takes time for him to go out in the world.”
At this time details about the final season are being kept under wraps. What is known is that Tracey Ullman will be returning along with :Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman, Cheryl Hines, J.B. Smoove, Richard Lewis, Ted Danson, and Vince Vaughn. The 10-episode “Curb Your Enthusiasm” final season will hit HBO and MAX starting February 4th, 2024. The series finale is scheduled for April 7th, 2024.
