    Eli Roth Gets Second-Helping of “Thanksgiving,” Sequel Greenlit!

    John Carver will kill again! Filmmaker Eli Roth has revealed his holiday slasher “Thanksgiving” will get a sequel! Roth himself confirmed the news via an Instagram video. He said Sony Pictures called him to tell him the news.

    Roth plans to take a year off and work with co-writer Jeff Rendell on a killer script. They aim for a theatrical release sometime in 2025, likely around Thanksgiving. Roth also points out it has always been his dream to make a slasher franchise, so who knows how long the legacy of John Carver will go on for.

    Though considering how long we waited between the “Grindhouse” trailer and the first film, this announcement is certainly a welcome change of pace in turnaround time. 

    “Thanksgiving” is currently playing in theaters nationwide. Check out the trailer below:
