Joey Drew Studios is back and have officially announced a new game in their franchise titled, “BENDY: THE CAGE.” Fans of the indie horror franchise were given a Halloween treat with the teaser announcement being released on YouTube.

For those unaware, BENDY is an indie horror franchise revolving around a cartoon character created in the 1930s. In 2017, the first game “BENDY and the Ink Machine” was released, where we follow the original creator, Henry. Henry returns to the former studio he worked at to discovers some paranormal hijinks caused by the Ink Machine. Henry’s job is to solve the mysteries of the Ink and reset the cycle, trying to save others in the process. Following the game’s release five books were released as well, adding on to the story.

Anyone else starting to see a parallel to another successful indie horror franchise that revolves around a mascot?

In 2022 a second game was released, “BENDY and the Dark Revival.” In this new thriller, players follow Audrey as she is sucked into the world of the Ink Machine. So much work went into the sequel game and there were a lot of twists that occurred. While playing as Audrey, fans got to finally see what Henry looks like on the way to the game’s climax. After the sequel’s release many fans believed the franchise was over. That was until October 30th, 2023, when the official BENDY X account posted a cryptic message.

The big reveal is that the franchise is not over, as a new game is currently in development. Very little is known about the upcoming “BENDY: THE CAGE.” In the teaser we hear Henry talk about Audrey’s actions from “BENDY and the Dark Revival.” He does pose an interesting question regarding the events leading to that game’s climax. Perhaps this new game will see Henry back at the focus, filling in some of those missing details from the last game.

We will continue to report about this new game once more information is available. Check out the teaser announcement now.
