“My Little Pony” Returns to Magic: The Gathering

Wizards of the Coast is in the mood for some charity again. And, as we know, charity is one of the key components of the magic of friendship. That’s right, the mane six of “My Little Pony” are returning to Magic: The Gathering for The Galloping 2. This is the second team-up that Wizards of the Coast have done with Extra Life. In support of the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and the Seattle Children’s Autism Center. The pony cards are available on the Secret Lair website for a limited time.

The card pack features four of the mane six: Rainbow Dash, Pinky Pie, Apple Jack, and Fluttershy. Rounding out the characters featured in the first pack: Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, and Nightmare Moon — otherwise known as Princess Luna. What better way to embody the values of friendship and selflessness? By helping raise proceeds for the study and care of others. And people seem to appreciate those values, too. Though getting some very nicely illustrated pony cards helps.

According to Wizards of the Coast, the community has raised almost $5 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in North America. “The generous philanthropy efforts of Wizards of the Coast have supported some of our most innovative and creative initiatives related to community outreach and training, building our capacity to serve more patients and families, and improving our systems to deliver more equitable patient care,” executive director of Seattle Children’s Autism Center Dr. Mendy Minjarez said. “Most importantly, it’s making a difference in the lives of kids and their families.”

You can pre-order Ponies: The Galloping 2 from Secret Lair here. They’re available in a standard pack, and a special foil pack.
