Netflix has a new docuseries coming to the streaming service. “Encounters” is a four episode documentary about extraterrestrial experiences. With the existence of aliens having been confirmed by the United States Government, experiences once deemed insane will be looked at a little more seriously. This docuseries intends to do that by focusing on otherworldly experiences from across the world.

“Encounters” is directed by Yon Motskin, and created by Amblin Entertainment, Boardwalk Pictures, and VICE Studios. The docuseries will focus on four different bizarre events involving extraterrestrial experiences. “As told from the perspective of firsthand experiences – in the places where the sightings occurred – and guided by cutting-edge scientists and military personnel, the series goes beyond the science to highlight the profoundly human impact of these encounters on lives, families, and communities,” the official synopsis reads.

The episodes will include interviews with authorities from different fields and coverage from reputable news organizations. Those being interviewed are a naval intelligence cryptologist, journalist, nanotechnology engineer, and a former NASA research scientist. In the past these authorities may have been seen as conspiracy theorists for talking about these phenomena.

The alien encounter experienced by a group of children from Zimbabwe will be the focus of one of these episodes. Another episode will look at the time unknown creatures once tampered with a Japanese nuclear power plant’s operations. Other highlights will be a mysterious submersible spacecraft seen off the cost of a Welsh village and revelations from military whistleblowers. There will also be a look at secret programs aimed at deep diving into these phenomena.

“Encounters” is set to hit Netflix September 27th, 2023. Check out the trailer now:
