Disney+ just dropped the first image for their upcoming “Goosebumps” reboot series. The new show is based on the children’s book series of the same name by R.L. Stine.

“Goosebumps” the show will follow a group of high school friends who accidentally unearth a nightmare when they discover a sinister secret hiding in their town. Three decades after a teenage boy named Harold Biddle passed away, the group throws a Halloween party in his old house. Of course, this props a new haunted reality to come to life. As the teens work together to save their town, they find out some chilling discoveries about their own families.

This teen horror-comedy series stars Justin Long, Rachael Harris, Ana Yi Puig, Miles McKenna, Will Price, Zack Morris, and Isa Briones. The first episode will be directed by Rob Letterman, who is also serving as a writer and executive producer along with Nick Stoller. Letterman also directed the 2015 Goosebumps” movie, so he is no stranger to the franchise.

Stine’s beloved series was also previously adapted into a television series. The live-action show ran for four seasons from 1995 to 1998. But it does not seem like this series will be connected to it aside from having the same source material.

“Goosebumps” is set to hit Disney+ on October 2023!
