MAX has ordered a “Sex and the City” sequel series “And Just Like That” third season. This renewal comes right before the second season finale, which is set to air on August 24th. That episode will feature a ‘cameo’ from “Sex and the City” alumni Samantha (Kim Cattrall).

“And Just Like That” follows the exploits of Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Charlotte (Kristin Davis), and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) over 15 years after “Sex and the City” ended. The series shows them navigating the sometimes rocky terrain of family, love, and friendship.
Along with Parker, Davis, and Nixon, the second season also starred Sara Ramírez, Sarita Choudhury, Nicole Ari Parker, Karen Pittman, Mario Cantone, David Eigenberg, Evan Handler, Christopher Jackson, Niall Cunningham, Cathy Ang, Alexa Swinton, and John Corbett.
“As we approach the highly anticipated season finale on Thursday, we raise our cosmos to [showrunner] Michael Patrick King and his magnificent team of writers, producers, cast and crew who continue to charm us, 25 years later, with dynamic friendships and engaging stories,” Sarah Aubrey, Max’s head of original content, said. “We cannot wait for audiences to see where season three will take our favorite New Yorkers.”
“We are thrilled to spend more time in the Sex and the City universe telling new stories about the lives of these relatable and aspirational characters played by these amazing actors,” added Michael Patrick King. “And Just Like That … here comes season three.”
“And Just Like That” is also executive produced by King along with Parker, Davis, Nixon, John Melfi, Julie Rottenberg, and Elisa Zuritsky.
Work on the third season will not commence until there has been a resolution to both the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Since entertainment does take a backseat to fair wages and protections from AI.
We will keep you posted on updates about “And Just Like That” as they become available.
