Actor Kevin Bacon will star in Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming horror action series “The Bondsman.” This will be Bacon’s second starring role in an Amazon original show following the comedy series “I Love Dick.”

“The Bondsman” will focus on Hub Halloran (Bacon), a backwoods bounty hunter who comes back from the dead. Giving him an unexpected second chance at life, love, and a nearly-forgotten musical career. But he soon finds out that his old job now has a demonic new twist.

Fred Ward, Kevin Bacon Universal Pictures “Tremors”

The new show has been given a straight-to-series order by the streamer for eight half-hour-long episodes. “The Bondsman” is the brainchild of creator Grainger David in partnership with Blumhouse Television. David recently made waves with their short film “The Chair,” which screened in competition for the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival.

Erik Oleson will be serving as showrunner under his CrimeThink production banner, which has a deal with Amazon. Oleson previously worked with the streamer when he served as showrunner for the second season of “Carnival Row.”

James Gunn, Kevin Bacon, Sean Gunn “Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special”

Both David and Bacon will serve as executive producers on “The Bondsman.” Along with Jason Blum, Chris McCumber, Jeremy Gold, and Chris Dickie for Blumhouse Television and Paul Shapiro for CrimeThink. Blumhouse is currently also working on the horror dramedy series “The Horror of Dolores Roach.” That project will hit Amazon on July 7th of this year.

Production for “The Bondsman” will not start until various labor negotiations in the entertainment industry are resolved. So there is no release window for this project just yet. We’ll keep you posted on updates as they become available.
