Warner Bros. Entertainment just dropped the official trailer for “Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar”! This new film will continue to follow the exploits of everyone’s favorite animated metal band DETHKLOK.

First unleashed onto the world in 2006 via Cartoon Network’s late-night programming block Adult Swim, “Metalocalypse” was created by Brendon Small and Tommy Blancha. It ran for 4 seasons with a standalone special, “Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem.”

“Army of the Doomstar” follows the band after the heroic rescue of guitarist Toki Wartooth. DETHKLOK frontman Nathan Explosion finds himself traumatized in a BRUTAL professional and romantic flat-spin. All while having to fulfill the prophecy and confronting the ultimate songwriting challenge: write the song of salvation and save the planet. Will Explosion be able to look beyond his brutally damaged ego to save his band? Will he be able to stop the Metalocalypse, and finally face the ultimate evil: Salacia?

The new film stars a laundry list of talent including creators/voice actors Brandon Small and Tommy Blacha. Along with Victor Brandt (“Metalocalypse”), Mark Hamill (“Batman: The Animated Series”), Jon Hamm (“Top Gun: Maverick”), Malcolm McDowell (“A Clockwork Orange”), Juliet Mills (“Passions”), Laraine Newman (“Saturday Night Live”), Raya Yarbrough (“Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem”), and 2022 Society of Voice Arts and Sciences Award winner Livia Zita. Plus Stephen “Thundercat” Bruner, and musicians King Diamond, Kirk Hammett (Metallica), Scott Ian (Anthrax), and Amy Lee (Evanescence).

The film is written, directed, and executive produced by Small. Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio, and Ben Kalina are also executive-producing “Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar.”
