Actresses Lauren Staerck (“Trust”) and Natasha Henstridge (“Species”) will star in the new horror movie “Cinderella’s Revenge.” This is not to be confused with the other upcoming horror film, “Cinderella’s Curse.” While they share the same inspiration, these are entirely different projects.

“Cinderella’s Revenge” will center around Cinderella (Staerck) as her wicked stepsisters and stepmother push her too far. With the help of her Fairy Godmother (Henstridge) she will pursue blood-soaked vengeance against her tormentors.

The film also stars Stephanie Lodge (“Cerebrum”), Beatrice Fletcher (“Croc!”), Megan Purvis (“It Came from Below”), and Darrell Griggs (“Pterodactyl”).

Production on “Cinderella’s Revenge” is already underway in  England. The project is directed by Andy Edwards (“Zombie Spring Breakers”) for Mark Amin’s Sobini Films. It is produced by Amin, Mark Lester, Cami Winikoff, and Jessica Mathis.

“Cinderella is the most famous fairy tale in the world,” Amin said. “We were able to develop a great horror script that is also a female empowerment story with global appeal.” Not to mention this is adding to the current horror boom of turning children’s stories into gory horror films. So far the genre includes/will include Winnie the Pooh, Bambi, The Grinch, Peter Pan, and the aforementioned other Cinderella film. Because Cinderella really has one of the best motivations for revenge out of the bunch.

This early into production there is no release date set, yet. We’ll keep you posted on updates about “Cinderella’s Revenge” as they become available. As well as all the other twisted fairy tale projects that are in the works.
