The much-anticipated “Venture Bros.” movie just scored a summer release date. Amazon has confirmed that the follow-up to the popular Adult Swim series, “The Venture Bros.: Radiant is the Blood of the Baboon Heart,” is coming later this year.

“The Venture Bros.: Radiant is the Blood of the Baboon Heart”

This new film comes almost 5 years after “The Venture Bros.” went off the air and will hopefully bring some much need closure. The series started on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim block of programming in 2004.  It ran for 7 seasons over the span of 14 years, with various specials peppered around the sporadic seasons.

“The Venture Bros.” revolves around scientist Rusty Venture (James Urbaniak), his two sons/clones, and their bodyguard Brock Samson (Patrick Warburton). The series follows the family as they perform bizarre experiments to solve their various, unique problems. Some of these issues are caused by Rusty’s rather unorthodox approach to science. While others are caused by his various super villain style enemies.

“The Venture Bros.: Radiant is the Blood of the Baboon Heart” will follow a nationwide manhunt for Rusty’s son, Hank Venture (Christopher McCulloch aka Jackson Publick), who disappeared at the end of season 7. This search leads to untold dangers and unexpected revelations, while The Monarch (also McCulloch) is literally out for Dr. Venture’s blood. An imposing evil from the past reemerges to wreak havoc on the Ventures, The Guild, and even the Monarch’s marriage to Dr. Mrs. The Monarch (Doc Hammer). It will take friends and foes alike to restore the Ventures’ world to order… or end it once and for all.

The film also stars Nina Arianda, Clancy Brown, John Hodgeman, Hal Lublin, Jane Lynch, Charles Parnell, Jay Pharoah, Steven Rattazzi, JK Simmons, and Dana Snyder. Series creators/voice actors Doc Hammer and Jackson Publick will write and executive produce, with Publick directing.

“The Venture Bros.: Radiant is the Blood of the Baboon Heart” hits Amazon on July 21st, 2023. You can check out the previously released teaser footage below:
