“Secret Invasion” Gets New Character Posters, Teaser Trailer

Marvel Studios has released character posters and a teaser for their newest Disney+ series “Secret Invasion.” The series will follow Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) as they try to stop an infiltration by the Skrulls. But things like that get complicated when you don’t know who to trust. Since not everyone is who they appear to be.

The series of 10 posters show each character’s face in black and white, inter-spliced with a Skrull in full color. The characters include Fury, Talos, G’iah (Emilia Clarke), Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), Gravik (Kingsley Ben-Adir), Everett K. Ross (Martin Freeman), Sonya Falsworth (Olivia Colman), James Rhodes (Don Cheadle), Priscilla Fury (Charlayne Woodard), and Pagon (Killian Scott).

Marvel Studios even got a bit extra when they posted these to Twitter. Each poster had a “readers added context” box. They say things like “these images may be misleading. Not everyone is who they may seem in Marvel Studios’ Secret Invasion. The invasion has already begun.” And the simple but effective, “Trust no one.”

So, if you were hoping for some hints as to who may have already fallen from this poster set, forget it. Because if these were all accurate, we have an “everyone’s a Cylon” situation on our hands.

In addition to the new posters we also got a new teaser. While there isn’t much new footage vs the full trailer, what we do get seems to be setting the tone for the series. Like Rhodes telling Fury he is “the most wanted man in the world.” And Fury giving the very Fury response, “Mama always said I was special.”

We can also see ai face swap technology in the show, which allows the Skrulls to look like anyone they want. This makes it hard to know who is real and who isn’t, adding to the suspense and mystery.

“Secret Invasion” hits Disney+ June 21st.
