Hasbro’s Entertainment One (eOne) plans to launch a new streaming channel devoted to the beloved tabletop game “Dungeons & Dragons.” Planning to launch this summer, it will be a 24-hour free, ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channel. While it doesn’t seem like eOne has cut any distribution deals, yet. They do expect “The Dungeons & Dragons Adventures” channel to be available on “a number” of platforms.

“This is an amazing opportunity to create and highlight exciting, engaging Dungeons & Dragons content, to both serve our wide audience of existing fans and welcome a new wave of fans to the community,” Dan Rawson, SVP of “Dungeons & Dragons” at Hasbro’s subsidiary Wizards of the Coast, said. “We look forward to bringing this channel to life and continuing to build out the thrilling D&D universe with even more content, partnerships and innovative formats.”

The channel will feature a mixture of “Dungeons & Dragons” focused content. Including episodes of the animated series that ran from 1983-1985. That follows a group of friends who are transported to the world of “D&D” and they must find their way back home. Of course, while they battle or help others along the way. This channel will also feature series “Encounter Party,” “Faster, Purple Worm! Kill! Kill!,” and “Heroes’ Feast,” along with third-party content from internet creators and influencers with a focus on live gameplay.

“Encounter Party” is developed from a podcast of the same name. Like the podcast, it will follow six professional actors/improv artists. While also adding actor Khary Payton (“The Walking Dead”) into the mix. These performers will be role-playing an original campaign set in the world of the Forgotten Realms.
“Faster, Purple Worm! Kill! Kill!” will be an improv comedy series. It will feature a shifting cast of guests and celebrities, including series co-creator Matthew Lillard. Each episode follows a party of first-level “Dungeons & Dragons” characters as they come up against beasts they stand no chance against. Seems like “Total Party Death” might be the more fitting title for this series. But we’ll never knock a solid “Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!” reference.

“Heroes’ Feast” is based on the Heroes’ Feast cookbook featuring recipes inspired by “Dungeons & Dragons.” This series will have two hosts ,and be half talk show and half cooking competition. The hosts will be chef Mike Haracz and actress/director/writer Sujata Day, who is a much less experienced cook. The duo will prepare dishes for a revolving cast of guest diners.
We’ll keep you posted on news about “The Dungeons & Dragons Adventures” FAST channel as they become available.
