“Succession” Star Matthew Macfadyen Joins “Deadpool 3” Cast

Fans are super excited for “Deadpool 3.” After Ryan Reynolds confirmed Hugh Jackman would be returning as Wolverine, we’ve been champing at the bit for its release. Turns out Matthew Macfadyen (“Succession“) is will ALSO be in the upcoming film as well. He’ll be joined by “The Crown‘s” Emma Corin. What role either are playing remains to be seen.

Ryan Reynolds, TJ Miller “Deadpool 2” 20th Century Fox

It’s possible Macfadyen may be replacing T.J. Miller as Weasel. Miller recently stated he had no wish to work with Reynolds again, due to a particularly awkward moment on set during filming of “Deadpool 2.” Considering the string of trouble Miller got himself into, it’s possible Marvel Studios and Disney wanted to recast anyway. Given Weasel’s appearance in the “Deadpool” comics, it seems like a perfect fit. But that’s pure speculation on our part.

This upcoming film will be an interesting one. It’s the first time Marvel Studios and Team Deadpool are working together to make the film. Because of that, this will be the first R-rated film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The first two “Deadpool” movies (and “Logan“) had R-ratings.This would allow Deadpool to engage in the happy-go-lucky violence he’s known for. And this time, with a frustrated Wolverine being dragged along. Who wants to start taking bets on how many times Wade is going to get the snikt?

Shawn Levy directs from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. “Deadpool 3” is currently slated to hit theaters November 8th, 2024.
