Bruce Campbell Tells Heckler to “Get the F— Out!” at SXSW

A video of a surprising verbal altercation between Bruce Campbell and a heckler at the SXSW premiere of “Evil Dead Rise” has gone viral. After the film’s screening finished, several cast and crew members did a Q & A session. A young person slouched in their balcony seat was approached by event staff.

The patron pops up and yells something about “the goddamn movie,” over the person speaking on stage. This, of course, brought the Q&A to a grinding halt as people were trying to figure out what was going on. The heckler then screamed “This movie f*cking sucks!” before throwing popcorn into the air like a toddler throwing a tantrum.

As they moved towards the exit, the audience erupted into a chorus of boos. At which point producer and franchise hero Campbell responded. “What are you doing here? Get the f*ck out of here.” Producer Robert Tapert added “I don’t get it. He waited all the way through the credits.” All while the would-be troll stormed off.

“That asshole aside, I think we can all agree that this movie actually really fucking rules,” Peter Hall, SXSW Film/TV programmer and panel moderator said.

No one is entirely sure at this point what started the incident. But some in the audience have claimed the heckler slept through the entire movie, and somehow decided it was everyone else’s problem. Alcohol also may have been involved, but we highly doubt the rude moviegoer will step forward to tell their side. Don’t mess with the king, baby.

“Evil Dead Rise” will hit theaters on April 21st, 2023. It also seems like director Lee Cronin’s $50 is still up for grabs. Check out the video below, the audio is obviously NSFW:
