StoryPhones Let You Record Your Own Bedtime Stories

Putting the kids to bed can be a nightmare if you’re not seasoned in the art of it. Heck, even if you are- every kid is different. In my house, I have one easy sleeper, and one who wants about 100 stories a night. She fights me tooth and nail when it comes to bedtime. I was offered to demo StoryPhones, which is essentially a set of headphones you can set on your head, and it will tell you stories. This sounded just about perfect, so I said I’d give them a shot.

    StoryPhones

    Easy to Use

The first night we used these was great. There are buttons on the right side and a place on the left where you put a magnetic pog. These magnetic pogs come pre-programmed with stories on them. They have stories like Mickey Mouse and Friends as well as others from franchises such as “Frozen.” When you want to listen to a different set of stories you just have to replace the disk, easy peasy.

What’s really cool about these headsets is that you can actually customize your own disk. There is a feature on the StoryPhones app that allows you to record yourself reading a story. Each disk has a maximum of 120 minutes of audio which is A LOT of space to fill. That’s plenty of space for chapter books or even smaller children’s books.

    A Great Keepsake

What makes this feature so special is that it’s a great keepsake. The fact that you or anyone can record a story for your child and get it on a disk usable with the headphones makes it really cool. If your child is missing Nana or someone who lives far away, they can feel a bit closer by listening to their voice. This is something I wish they had around when I was a kid because I would have loved to have my Nana record some of the books we read together like “Maggie Muggins.”

    StoryPhones

    Use Anytime

You don’t have to limit these to just bedtime! I have another kid who tends to get carsick so I’ve been using these on her for longer trips. It keeps them entertained and me happy. They can also listen to them while painting, drawing or writing. Storyphones is a great parenting tool that everyone should try.

    Where to Buy?
