Universal Pictures is giving us our first peak at the official logo for their new vampire film, “Renfield.” Nicholas Hoult (“Mad Max: Fury Road” ) stars as the titular character of R.M. Renfield, alongside Ben Schwartz (“Parks & Recreation”), Awkwafina (“Swan Song”), Caroline Williams (“The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2”), and Nicolas Cage as Count Dracula himself. Performers Ben Schwartz, Adrian Martinez, Shohreh Aghdashloo, and Bess Rouss are also among the cast.

“Renfield” is based on henchman R.M. Renfield from Bram Stoker‘s iconic 1897 novel, “Dracula.” It will be a modern-day adventure with a comedic tone that is set to follow Renfield. The famous henchmen has grown sick and tired of being Dracula’s lackey for the promise of immortality. But he soon finds a new lease on life and possibly even redemption. All because he falls for the feisty, perennially angry traffic cop, Rebecca Quincy (Awkwafina).
The film is based on an original pitch from Robert Kirkman, creator of “The Walking Dead.” Chris McKay (“The Tomorrow War”) is directing, from a script by Ryan Ridley (“Rick and Morty”).
We hope this means we will see a trailer sometime in the near future. So, be sure to check back in for that. “Renfield” hits theaters on April 14th, 2023.
