The new horror movie “The Skulleton” has officially added Oscar nominee Bruce Dern (“The Hateful Eight”), Tyrese Gibson (“Fast & Furious”), Shawnee Smith (“Saw”), and Taryn Manning (“Orange is the New Black”) to its cast.

Ante Novakovic (“Sanctioning Evil”) is directing from a script by Anthony and James Gaudioso (“Mid-Century”), who are also acting as producers.

“The Skulleton” centers around Moira Cole (Smith) as she attempts to rebuild her life after the brutal massacre of her friends and family.  Crimes that were perpetrated by her deranged and obsessed cousin, Lee Morris (Damian Maffei). Moira tries to live a quiet suburban life alongside her two deeply affected adult sons. While they are dealing with things as best they can, this crime also inspired a wildly popular horror franchise. Leaving them with a horrific reminder splashed across their screens every October.

If “The Strangers: Prey at Night” taught us anything, its that Maffei can pull off deranged rather well. Other cast members include Drew Moerlein (“South of Hell”), Alexander James Rodriguez (Netflix’s “Bee and Puppycat”), Jaime Zevallos (Marvel’s “Cloak and Dagger”), James Gaudioso (“Mid-Century”), and Anthony Gaudioso (“What Josiah Saw”).

“The Skulleton” is currently shooting in Connecticut. It is produced by Rob Simmons of Jars Media Group and DJ Dodd of Future Proof Films. Laura Barbato of Twelve 83 Entertainment, Drew Morlein, and Peter D’Amato will serve as executive producers.
