Jason David Frank‘s death has shocked and devastated fans. Described as gracious and kind by those who’d met him at conventions, everyone who knew him mourned his loss. “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” co-star Amy Jo Johnson shared fond memories of him on her social media.
Fueled by rumors, Jason’s wife, Tammie Frank, made the difficult decision to share the truth about his death. It was, heartbreakingly, a suicide.

“It has shocked and saddened me beyond belief to see that the media has turned my family’s tragedy into a tall tale. Since Jason’s death, I have been harassed online and can no longer stand to watch my husband’s good name slandered,” she wrote. Rumors never fail to fly with the sudden passing of a celebrity..
Tammie went into detail, addressing rumors the couple was experiencing some difficulties. They were still together, but were working through their problems. She says she left their hotel room for no more than 10 minutes to get some snacks from the lobby. Upon returning, he wouldn’t answer the door.
Tragedy In Seconds
By the time police could open the door, Jason had taken his own life. Tammie expressed she had no idea her husband was planning such a drastic action. This is sadly often is the case. “It was meant to be a fun weekend getaway, and instead, I lost the love of my life. Jason was a good man, but he was not without his demons. He was human, just like the rest of us.” You can read Tammie’s full statement here.
