Crunchyroll is Releasing “Hime’s Quest” for the Game Boy Color

It’s time to dig out that old Game Boy Color and dust it off because Crunchyroll is releasing a physical cartridge for their new game Hime’s Quest. The game will be an 8-bit adventure featuring the fan favorite mascot to the company. Hime also just had her sweet 116th birthday June 6th!

“Hime’s Quest” is a long-lost 8-bit adventure game that will see Crunchyroll-Hime save the world from Y2K (with a special appearance from horror manga legend Junji Ito!). The Y2K aspect is really interesting personally because I remember living through it. I also had a doom box with Band-Aids and first aid supplies hidden in my closet. Times were wild, there was a lot of scary propaganda on late night tv.

Fans can also demo the game live this weekend at Anime NYC. “Hime’s Quest” for Game Boy Color will be available for a limited time only via pre-order beginning November 18th on the Crunchyroll Store and Limited Run Games in available territories. You can pick between Crunchyroll Orange, exclusive to the Crunchyroll store, or Limited Run Blue, exclusive to LimitedRunGames.

The window for pre-orders and adventure remains open until December 23rd. For fans without a Game Boy Color, “Hime’s Quest” will be free-to-play and download on supported browsers later this year.
