While you still can’t convince us he’s not some real-life Lex Luthor or James Bond villain, Jeff Bezos just did something pretty great. The former Amazon CEO just awarded American treasure and recent Rock Hall inductee Dolly Parton $100 million.

In a tweet, Bezos revealed Parton is the newest recipient of the Courage and Civility award, garnering the hefty sum. She’s in good company with this, too. Van Jones and Chef José Andrés are previous awardees for their tireless work across numerous charities.

We’ve just announced a new Courage and Civility award recipient — @DollyParton, who leads with her heart, and will put this $100 million award to great use helping so many people. She joins prior awardees, @VanJones68 and @Chefjoseandres. Congrats, Dolly! pic.twitter.com/dzTuoGVp3G

We can’t think of anyone better.

I try to put my money where my heart is. I will do my best to do good things with this money ❤️ Thank you @JeffBezos #LaurenSanchez https://t.co/8RHh51z3jT

The 2022 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will stream November 19th on HBO Max.

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
