If you’re shopping for the holidays for a bibliophile then you know the struggle of finding something they haven’t already read. Sure you could get them a gift card to Barnes and Noble or Amazon but why not try for something unique that only you could have picked for them? Over the year I’ve been amassing a list of some books that even someone who’s read everything in their fandom would love. This particular list will focus on fans of “Harry Potter.”

Best of all, MOST of these books don’t contribute to J.K. Rowling‘s royalty checks so if your iffy about getting anything Harry Potter, hopefully that eases your conscience.

“SNAPE: The Definitive Analysis of Hogwarts’s Mysterious Potions Master”

    Amazon

“SNAPE: The Definitive Analysis of Hogwarts’s Mysterious Potions Master” is part of a series of books called “AN UNOFFICIAL EXPLORATION.” This book focuses on Snape’s development throughout the series. It’s not authorized by anyone involved in the original series, *cough* J.K. Rowling. But, it’s a great scholarly approach to dissecting his character. Get it here.

“Madly, Deeply: The Diaries of Alan Rickman”

    Amazon

When Alan Rickman passed away, Harry Potter fans everywhere mourned for their lost potions master. In this diary he recounts how his time on the Harry Potter set almost broke him. Read about his encounters with J.K. Rowling and the lack of his characters motivations almost cost him to quit several times. “Madly, Deeply: The Diaries of Alan Rickman” is sure to keep your friends entertained and bonus they’ll learn something great for bar trivia night. Pick it up here.

“Tom Felton: Beyond the Wand: The Magic and Mayhem of Growing Up a Wizard”

    Amazon

Tom Felton’s adolescence was anything but ordinary. His early rise to fame in beloved films like “The Borrowers” catapulted him into the limelight, but nothing could prepare him for what was to come after he landed the iconic role of the Draco Malfoy, the bleached blonde villain of the “Harry Potter “movies. For the next ten years, he was at the center of a huge pop culture phenomenon and yet, in between filming, he would go back to being a normal teenager trying to fit into a normal school. “Tom Felton: Beyond the Wand: The Magic and Mayhem of Growing Up a Wizard” is a great read from start to finish. Pick it up here.

“DUMBLEDORE: The Life and Lies of Hogwarts’s Renowned Headmaster”

    Amazon

“DUMBLEDORE: The Life and Lies of Hogwarts’s Renowned Headmaster” is another entry into the UNOFFICIAL EXPLORATION series of books. Dumbledore dives between the lines of the Harry Potter books to create a portrait of the controversial Headmaster. We find Dumbledore’s hand in every seeming coincidence, and consider the impossible decisions he had to make. Pick it up here.

    “Harry Potter: The Blueprints”

    Amazon

“Harry Potter: The Blueprints” is a great inside look at the construction of the world on film. This book showcases the work of the artists who laid the foundation for the visually enchanting buildings, homes, rooms, and settings from all eight films. Pick it up here.

“The Magic of MinaLima: Celebrating the Graphic Design Studio Behind the Harry Potter & Fantastic Beasts Films”

    Amazon

“The Magic of MinaLima: Celebrating the Graphic Design Studio Behind the Harry Potter & Fantastic Beasts Films” will be sure to keep them engaged. Part of the charm of Harry Potter isn’t just the story but also the many design elements that went into the creation of the world. This collection showcases the very best works from the award-winning studio’s two decades and includes interactive elements such as the Marauder’s Map, the Black Family Tapestry, and Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes. Pick it up here.

    “Harry Potter” Illustrated Books 1-4

    Amazon

Harry Potter illustrated (books 1-4) may be something they’ve already read but they will love to have them in their collection.
