“Percy Jackson” Series Casts Ares, Echidna, and Medusa!

Disney+’s upcoming live-action adaptation of Rick Riordan‘s “Percy Jackson” series looks better with each new cast announcement. And this time is no different. You’re probably already aware of some of the buzz surrounding the cast. Whether it’s fans excited about Jason Mantzoukas being cast as the gruff but lovable Dionysus or racists complaining about the fact that Leah Sava Jeffries will be playing Annabeth.

Today’s news focuses on some character who probably won’t always be in the spotlight but are sure to become fan favorites (albeit for a variety of different reasons).

Ares, the wickedly handsome agent of chaos who often finds fighting is easier than thinking, will be played by Adam Copeland. While Copeland might be better known for his career as Edge, a WWE Hall of Famer who returned to the ring in January 2020 after a nine-year hiatus due to medical issues. He’s also had his fair share of tv appearances on shows like “Vikings,” “Haven,” and “The Flash.”

Echidna, The Mother of Monsters who delights in her role as a challenger of heroes, will be played by Suzanne Cryer (“Silicon Valley,” “Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place,” and “Straight Man“).

Medusa, the infamous and embittered gorgon who harbors no particularly welcoming feelings towards the gods, will be played by Jessica Parker Kennedy (“The Flash,” “Black Sails,” and “The Old Man“).

There’s still no word on a release date, but production continues to be on schedule. If they keep adding a stellar cast like this, it’s sure to be worth the wait.
