Under Armor Partners with DC Comics for “Black Adam” Activewear

DC Comics and Under Armor have teamed up to create a line of workout clothes to promote the release of “Black Adam,” starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Nothing is more attractive in the comic book world than an anti-hero. It’s almost always the clothes that attract us first. If not wearing dark clothes and a leather jacket, their colors are always the opposite of the do-gooders.

The collection sports the character’s black and yellow motif, accented by an electric pattern and emblazoned with the iconic lightning bolt on the chest or thigh. Working out has never looked so good. Especially when worn by The Rock himself.

Originally a major super villain and Captain Marvel’s- a.k.a. Shazam‘s -arch nemesis, Black Adam has been reinvented for the 21st century as a misunderstood anti-hero who wants to clear his name and redefine his reputation. Funnily enough, his first cinematic appearance was in four-legged form in “DC League of Super Pets,” also voiced by Dwayne Johnson, in July of this year.

The line means a lot to Johnson, who was inspired by the work and effort he put into preparation for the role as well as embodying the motivation of the character. “Black Adam deserved more than a portrayal,” he says. “He deserved a transformation. Every training session, every rep, every drop of sweat was my commitment to disrupt the very notion about this character and myself.”

    Lookin’ sharp, Dwayne! Underarmor

The limited collection is available online, and at Dick’s Sporting Goods for those who also want to push beyond and strive for peak physical form.
