Is Metro PCS Better Than AT&T?

Choosing between AT&T and Metro PCS can be tough when there are many other options, such as T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon Wireless. You might have heard about Metro PCS and its notorious ads that often seem to cause AT&T’s customers to jump ship in search of cheaper cellular plans without sacrificing their service quality. If you’re considering switching from AT&T to Metro PCS, here are some things you should know before making the switch.

    What makes Metro so special

Metro is cheaper and has better customer service. They have awesome phone options, too. I have had AT&T for over five years, but I am tired of paying so much for my cell phone plan with them when other carriers offer better deals. You can get unlimited talk, text, and data starting at $40/month. That’s a great deal considering most competitors charge you around $60 to start without an auto-pay discount! Plus, they offer lower-priced plans like $10/month if you only want 1 GB of data or want to talk and text the whole month without using any data. With these lower prices, you could afford to add a second line to your plan for just another $10-$15 each month!

How does it save you money?

At first glance, it doesn’t seem that AT&T and MetroPCS would be comparable. The company has been around for over twenty years, while the competitor was founded in 1993. However, once you see their respective plans and fees, you may find that they’re not all that different from one another. After all, when we talk about a monthly cost for unlimited calling or text messaging, there’s little to no difference between the two providers.

Tips to save more on your monthly bill

Upgrade your old phone. A new contract is required, but often you can upgrade an older model by simply trading in your current device when signing up for a new plan.

Opt for prepaid service. Pre-paid plans are a cheaper alternative to the traditional wireless contracts offered by AT&T and MetroPCS, so you can get more information about Metro pcs billing detail from topmycell. Some popular options offer unlimited talk and text with data at prices that aren’t much higher than plans with limited minutes or texts.

Get set up with Wi-Fi calling. This will let you make unlimited calls over Wi-Fi, which generally offers a better connection than mobile networks outdoors and in high-traffic areas like downtown buildings where you might spend all day working.

    Comparing plans

Many people find MetroPCS the better option for finding a new cell phone provider. They offer cheaper plans that allow customers to get more for their money compared to other providers. For example, with AT&T, you can have unlimited voice minutes and texts and one gigabyte of data. With this plan, you’ll pay $100 per month while getting access to devices like the iPhone 6, Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, Samsung Galaxy S5, and more.

On the other hand, if you compare plans with the same level of service, then you might be surprised at how much cheaper they are.

Simpler plans are cheaper than complicated ones.

Many people have a big misconception that they need the fanciest plan out there to get the best service. It turns out this couldn’t be farther from the truth. The cheaper plans with fewer features and no texting or data are all you need in a plan.

There are plenty of places to find great deals on these basic plans and save money too! With more than 6 million satisfied customers, MetroPCS is one of the leading providers of prepaid cell phone services today. And because T-Mobile’s network powers us, your calls will never drop, and your data will always be reliable – something you can’t say about most other prepaid carriers.

The real difference between at&t and Metro pcs

Metro PCS offers its services on a no-contract basis. With other providers, you are forced to commit to a service that can put you in a tough spot if you change your mind later. Contract plans make it hard for people who have bad credit or don’t have the money to get service since these providers want money upfront before activating anything. No contract plans are convenient and easy for everyone, from college students to people with bad credit or those who might need to change carriers for any number of reasons later on.

Metro also has an Unlimited plan, unlike any other provider, which will not throttle your data usage nor require a restrictive data cap. The Metro Unlimited Plan is perfect for someone looking to stream videos or use their phone as a hotspot without worrying about overages.

Converting from at&t to Metro pcs

At&t offers the ability to add lines without activating new devices. You can’t use this feature with Metro. A metro customer with a mobile internet device may find that the data is faster than what they receive from at&t for no additional cost and unlimited access to hotspots nationwide for $10/month. Wireless Protection Plans are free with Metro and may help prevent expensive phone replacements due to damage or theft. A downside of switching is getting a new number. Lastly, when there’s an outage, AT&T partnered with Cricket and Sprint, but Metro doesn’t have the same offerings as other carriers, which could be problematic.

    Conclusion

Based on the information gathered and compared, it is clear that AT&T is superior to MetroPCS. The main reason for this difference is their customers’ coverage. AT&T has a coverage area that covers more than 99% of Americans while at the same time remaining one of the most affordable carriers in America. In addition, AT&T offers 4G LTE service, which speeds five times faster than 3G and is more compatible with new devices like iPhones and tablets. Another feature that makes AT&T so great is their family plans which include unlimited voice and text messaging and 2GB of data for every line on your account; enough to cover all lines!
