It has been announced that the comic book “BRZRKR” that was written by Keanu Reeves and Matt Kindt and drawn by Ron Garney will be getting its own movie and anime at Netflix. This news comes from a panel at the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con.

So far, Netflix has green lit a hefty backing of two seasons just for the anime alone. At Boom Studios, Stephen Christy, (President of Development) has assured fans that Netflix is the best home for the adaptation to be created in and that the creators of the highly regarded anime “Ghost in the Shell” (Production I.G.) will be handling the project. While Reeves will play the lead role of the character of “B” from the comic book, writer Matt Sontomlin has taken to writing the script for the project. This is indeed good news!

What is BRZRKR you might ask? It is a crowd funded comic book that Reeves did back in 2020. Its campaign was a major success and it appears that it did not go unnoticed. The overall story to BRZRKR is about an immortal half-god and half-man who fights across time through historical wars and is searching for why he is unable to die. In the comic books, he ends up working for the U.S. government and is promised that he will get the answers he seeks because of it. There is no doubt that Netflix might change a couple things in adapting the comic for a screenplay, but one can guess that the main story will remain intact. No concrete dates have been given on when fans should expect to see the anime or movie hit Netflix, but it is good to hear that the comic book will get an official adaptation. Hopefully more news will drop soon about other potential actors involved in the project. Until then you can read the comic book to stay caught up on everything BRZRKR!
