Marvel is investing in more animated projects which they revealed the release dates their upcoming Disney+ projects. Returning for another season is “Marvel’s What If…?” which explores alternate timelines of our favorite heroes. That will return in early 2023. We also got a release date for the much anticipated “X-Men ‘97.” It’ll be coming to Disney+ in fall of 2023. The announcement we were most excited for is “Spider-Man: Freshman Year,” which will be hitting the streaming platform in 2024.

“Spider-Man: Freshman Year”  was announced during Disney+ Day and will follow Peter Parker prior to what we’ve seen of him in the MCU. It’ll take place prior to the events of “Civil War.” Making an exciting appearance (or auditory appearance) Charlie Cox reprising his role as Daredevil. During the panel they also confirmed some of the gallery of rogues who would be appearing, including: Dr. Octavius, Chameleon, Speed Demon, Scorpion, and Butane the Pyromaniac. Harry Osborn and Amadeus Cho (who eventually becomes the Hulk) will also appear in it. The second season of the show (which was already slated for two seasons even though we haven’t seen any of it) will be subtitled “Sophomore Year.”

    Just announced at #SDCC2022:

As for “What If…?” audiences got a glimpse of season 2 of the show with a trailer. The show is also already renewed for a third season. Captain Carter will be back along with Black Widow and Steve Rogers.

Fear not, for “X-Men ‘97” was also already renewed for another season. It’ll pick up where the original series left off. While the series didn’t end on a technical cliffhanger, it did leave a lot of places to go. The majority of the voice cast will return, also original showrunners Eric and Julia Lewald are consulting.

Finally there was a new trailer for “I am Groot,” which is coming to Disney+ later this year.
