A crew member on “Law & Order: Organized Crime” was shot and killed in the early hours of July 19th. The crew member, Johnny Pizarro, was sitting in a car when he was shot, around 5:15am. He was transported to the nearest hospital, but was pronounced dead at 6:00am.
Pizarro was responsible for parking enforcement, in this case, holding spaces for crew.
“We were terribly saddened and shocked to hear that one of our crew members was the victim of a crime early this morning and has died as a result. We are working with local law enforcement as they continue to investigate. Our hearts go out to his family and friends and we ask that you respect their privacy during this time,” NBC and Universal Television stated.
“Law & Order: Organized Crime” is the spinoff that brought back Christopher Meloni as Detective Elliot Stabler. The show revolves around Stabler as he has to adapt back into the police department, which is far different than when he left a decade ago. Detective Stabler rejoined the NYPD after a heavy personal loss, and is working through it while also trying to get the bad guys.
Suspects have not been named.
